Mitch is not unique. He is just a run of the mill regular republican and like all republicans willing to shut down the show and put America second while they chase power and control. The needs of the people can wait. The sad part is this despicable bunch of losers were just empowered by the voters to continue their conduct for another two years and block and stall everything. Its not like they solve any problems when they hold the whitehouse and congress, They Don't. The Bush years stand as a monument to their lack of action. It will take a decade to rebuild the country from the damage done by the GOP during the Bush years, perhaps more if they continue to obstruct every attempt to help the people and the country. Force a republican to tell the truth and you find yourself staring at a mute.
Senate minority leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) has weighed in on the most important issue for Senate Republicans during the next session of Congress.
No, friends, it’s not the economy; it’s not jobs; it’s not the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq; it’s not national security or energy independence.
In an interview with the National Journal’s Major Garrett, McConnell said, “The single most important thing we want to
achieve is for President Obama to be a one-term president.”
The most important thing, he said, was to give the Republican 2012 presidential candidate the easiest time possible to defeat Barack Obama.
If you ever thought republicans had helping you in mind you were mistaken.
Here’s what McConnell said as quoted by the National Review and cited here by one of hundreds of followup stories:
"The single most important thing we want to achieve is for President Obama to be a one-term president. I ask you, who in the hell on the Republican minority would not work for that goal? That’s what the two party system does. The name of the game is power. The American people play second fiddle in this orchestra."
Tell Me What You Need and I'll Tell You What It Costs.
It is hard to believe the audacity of the scam senator McConnell attempted to pull when Congress was considering financial reform that would let the government seize and restructure big, failing banks. Sen. McConnell met with a roomful of heavy hitters from Wall Street to see what they’d like him to do. As a result of his Wall Street meeting, McConnell opposed the proposed financial reform because it would be another bank bailout. In actuality, the reform being considered is tailored to avoid having to bail out any more big banks; and if they got to the point that they needed to be bailed out, they would, instead, be broken up, or “restructured.” The reform is the exact opposite of what McConnell says it is. Not only that, if the proposed reforms aren’t passed, the country would be in the same position it occupied in late 2008, when irresponsible investment banks nearly collapsed our entire financial system. McConnell (a tool of big business and big coal) worked to derail an attempt to rein in banks’ destructive excesses. Mitch is a republican BS artist and corporation tool to his very corrupt core.
But Mitch is not unique. He is just a run of the mill, common republican. Here's the hard part, For the sake of our country and its citizens we must learn to deal with these people.
