Romneyvilles are built for Poverty-Stricken Americans, Our Future???

Republican Vision for America brought to you by Mitt Romney

Romneyvilles are planned for Poverty-Stricken Americans should Mitt Romney and a yet to be named vice take over the White House.

The Republicans relocated his job to an over seas location so this formerly employeed gentleman has spare time for shack repair

Pick the wrong direction and re-live the past.   Now you know what the simple statement "Forward" signifies and why the Obama Campain is using it.     I suggest we decide against the destruction of our government and vote  "Straight Ticket Democrat".

ACV Democratic News

"Hooverville"  became a common term for shacktowns and homeless encampments during the Great Depression.    There were dozens in the state of Washington, hundreds throughout the country, each testifying to the housing crisis that accompanied the employment crisis of the early 1930s.

GW Bush started the downfall of America, Mitt Romney's aim is to complete it

"Hooverville"  was a deliberately politicized label, emphasizing that President Herbert Hoover and the Republican Party were responsible for the economic crisis and its miseries.    The new Hoover is Mitt Romney's Republican Party and they are experienced at folding businesses and sending jobs overseas.   Mitt was willing to kiss auto production in the US good-by along with all the support businesses and jobs that feed off the Auto Industry.

ACV Democratic News

Now that President Obama's program is a great success and General Motors is once again number one in  the world Mitt Romney lies about what he wrote, said and did and tries to claim credit for the President's success.      Romney has a habit of claiming credit for successes he had absolutely nothing to do with.     There is a term for this Romney like behavior, it is called an outright lie.
Welcome to RomneyVille courtesy of the GOP

If Mitt Romney and the Republicans take control of the show we will re-visit Hooverville.   Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan are planning the demise of the US Government as you read this and they aren't too worried about hiding the clues.   Paul Ryan is a committed follower of Ayn Rand and her dangerous ideas.   They think that they have you fooled.   They have been stacking the deck for years and your chance at turning the situation around grows smaller and smaller each time a Republican administration gets a shot at you and your country.     Republicans represent big business and not you.    They are more than pleased to accept your votes and money and do nothing for you.      Thats a great deal for them and big business.
Bill Made The Trains Run On Time

The last time employeement was steady and plentiful Bill Clinton was president and the right wing did all that they could do to belittle and cripple him.   Clinton's time was the last time we were at peace and not occuping another country.     Love Bill Clinton or hate him he did the job as no one since has.    George W Bush destroyed all that Clinton had built up and then took our country so low that it will take a full decade to recover.

On Course to Recovery

President Obama has put us on course to recover even though the Republicans have roadblocked him at every turn.   Now after spending all their time saying no and blocking anything that might help get the country climb out of the hole the Republicans are campaigning and complaining that Obama hasn't gone far enough with the recovery and that he has not been quick enough.   Does your bulb burn dim enough to buy the republican slime?    Republicans will keep on feeding you crap as long as you buy it.

The New Hoover and designer of RomneyVille

It may be shocking  for me to tell you this but we live in a really dumb country.   25% of the population think President Obama was born in Kenya and a larger number of citizens thought Sarah Palin was a smart woman who was qualified to be president.    We have allowed and accepted that corporations are people, that a group called Acorn cast millions of phoney votes and stole the election from John McCain and Sarah Palin.   That all around the country hundreds of thousands of poor and old people are casting illegal votes and actions to end their rights to vote must be taken.

Republican Presidential ???

We have allowed and accepted that it is ok for Republicans to roadblock and obstruct everything the House and Senate try to do to help the country.   Republicans openly admit that the country be dammed their number one mission is to make sure President Obama serves only one term and they started working on this the day he was sworn in.

And Now, the biggest misconception of all,  Republicans care about common people and are waiting to represent your interest.   How truly ignorant is a third of the population?    Are they silly enough to buy any lie the Tea Party and Republicans tell them?   Are they silly enough to elect Mitt Romney?   Silly enough to give control of the Senate to Republicans?   Silly enough to make reservations for a shack in Romneyville?

The Ryan Budget to Destroy America

Somehow there is not enough money for social programs, womens health care, low rate student loans for education, social scurity, medicare and help for poor children.    There is plenty of money for tax breaks for the wealthy, tax breaks for big business like oil companies and plentiful funding to start wars, occupy other
countries and flood the Pentagon with weapon systems they don't want.   It is time for you to wake up, stand up and put this country on the right path permanetly.   It is time to load the House, Senate and White House with Democrats and it is time for Democrats to find their spine and fight.   Republicans pitch hardball and play to
win.   Democrats are all over the board and rarely come together behind an issue with unified thought.

It is ok to feel sad that our great nation went thru a Republican created Hooverville that produced shacks and poverty for our citizens to live in.    It is not ok to vote to let Republicans and Mitt Romney take us there a second time.     Republicans offer only failed policies from the past,  I hope you are smarter than that.

"We'll Shut the Government Down This Time".

We Will Shut It Down

John Boehner and the Tea Party Vow  "We'll Shut the Government Down This Time".      Before raising the credit limit of the USA last year the Republican Tea Party boxed things up and obstructed any settlement until the rating agencies had dropped the countries credit rating a notch.     Republicans have vowed to kill America one way or the other and to do all they can do to make President Obama look bad.    These Republican Tea Party fools brag about shutting the government completely down.     How did we end up with idiots like this in our country?  and what motivates them?

3 Idiots Trying to Destroy America

House Speaker John Boehner set the stage Tuesday for another tense, partisan showdown over tax and spending policy later this year, as he vowed to insist on big spending cuts before he will agree to a new debt ceiling.     Has there ever been in our entire history a weaker Speaker than John Boehner?      Boehner has zero controll over the Republicans in the House.     He cannot even reach an agreement on his own.    Speaker Boehner is controlled by the ultra right wing of the GOP and gets his marching orders from Eric Cantor.
I am a job creator and an extreme conservative this week

Boehner also promised a vote before November's elections on whether to prevent Bush-era tax cuts from expiring at year's end, as scheduled.     The Bush tax cuts are the thing that took the country down and the Republicans refuse to allow them to end even though they were scheduled to end a year ago.

You have to feel for Obama.   He had people like Joe  "The Joke" Liberman maskerading as a Democrat.    With Joe in your party who needs enemies?

His address to a Washington budget forum had chilling echoes of the 2011 clash over increasing the debt ceiling, a weeks-long standoff between the Obama White House and Republicans in the House of Representatives that roiled financial markets, led to a downgrade of federal credit and nearly forced much of the government to close.
Republicans are still working from Newt's play book and intend to shut the government down and hold it hostage until they get what they want.

Another vote on raising the debt ceiling is expected later this year, probably after the Nov. 6 elections.      Boehner pledged Tuesday to make it an  "action-forcing event in a town that has become infamous for inaction."

A visitor touring the House met John Boehner and told him he was doing a medicore job.    John said it was the kindest thing anyone in the House had said to him since becoming Speaker.     Then John cried.

Democrats scoffed.     Democrats had best stiffen their spines and get ready for the fight of their lives.     Republicans are dead serious about shutting the government down.     Republicans have sold themselves to large business intrests and billionaires and will hold nothing back when it comes to delivering service to their owners.
"Republicans are once again choosing millionaires over the middle class, and Speaker Boehner is threatening to take our nation into another manufactured crisis that will harm America's families," said House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, D-San Francisco.

The First, The One and Only Madam Speaker Nancy Pelosi

The White House was somewhat more measured.
"Everyone except for elected members of Congress, the Republican Party, agrees with that general proposition that we need to take a balanced approach to our deficit and debt challenges," said spokesman Jay Carney.

Jay has the toughest job in Washington

"A balanced approach"  to deficit reduction is Democratic shorthand for a package including tax increases as well as spending cuts.     Democrats should know by now that you can't communicate with Republicans using shorthand.     The hand must become a fist because Republicans are serious and are not likely to easily back down.

President Obama is plenty tough but he could use some strong Democratic support in the House and Senate.     We can elect him some help and we can pester the daylights out of  weak Democrats to get their game on or go home.

Worst of all for the Democrats the people are tired of their weak, lack luster method of backing down, quitting and folding.     Voters don't have much of a choice and the democrats win by default but just barely.     How sad it is that Democrats can't get their act together.

The Republicans win this award for pretending they represent average working people

Boehner flatly rejected higher taxes.     Thats his opening position and should be understood as his ideal starting point.

And then after saying  "atta girl'   Mitt Romney and four of his friends held me down and cut my hair.     Now Mitt says he doesn't even remember.

"Any sudden tax hike would hurt our economy, so this fall - before the election - the House of Representatives will vote to stop the largest tax increase in American history,"   Boehner said, referring to the expiration of the Bush-era tax cuts.     Because the House has a 242-190 GOP majority, the cuts are sure to pass.      But they're likely to go nowhere in the Senate, where Democrats control 53 of the 100 seats.     The Democrats have 190 members in the House but only 168 votes they can count on.

What's going on?     Why am I here?    Who woke me up?     Have I been tweeting again?

Obama and House Republicans last summer agreed to raise the debt ceiling in stages and to impose automatic spending cuts, set to begin taking effect in January.      As you look at the things the Democrats have already agreed to you wonder if there is anything left to negotiate.

We the people are left to cross our fingers and hope for the best.    We have a weak Democrat party and a terriorist Republican party and almost no chance for common sense to rule the day.

The Wide World of Entertainment

The South becomes Republican

In the century after Reconstruction, the white South identified with the Democratic Party.    The Democrats' lock on power was so strong, the region was called the Solid South.    The Republicans controlled certain parts of the Appalachian Mountains, and they sometimes did compete for statewide office in the border states. Before 1948, the Southern Democrats saw their party as the defender of the Southern way of life, which included a respect for states' rights and an appreciation for traditional southern values. They repeatedly warned against the aggressive designs of Northern liberals and Republicans, as well as the civil rights activists they denounced as  "outside agitators."     Thus there was a serious barrier to becoming a Republican.

Harry Truman
In 1948, Democrats alienated white Southerners in two ways.    The Democratic National Convention adopted a strong civil rights plank, leading to a walkout by Southerners.     Two weeks later President Harry Truman signed Executive Order 9981 integrating the armed forces.    In 1948 the Deep South walked out, formed a new regional party and nominated J. Strom Thurmond.      He carried the Deep South but the outer South stayed with Truman and the  "Dixiecrats" returned to the party.

J. Strom Thurmond

By 1964, the Democratic lock on the South was decisively broken. The long-term cause was that the region was becoming more like the rest of the nation and could not long stand apart in terms of racial segregation.    Modernization brought factories, businesses, and larger cities, and millions of migrants from the North;  far
more people graduated from high school and college.    Meanwhile the cotton and tobacco basis of the traditional South faded away, as former farmers moved to town or commuted to factory jobs.

Lester "Ax Handle" Maddox

The immediate cause of the political transition involved civil rights.   The civil rights movement caused enormous controversy in the white South with many attacking it as a violation of states' rights.    When segregation was outlawed by court order and by the Civil Rights acts of 1964 and 1965, a die-hard element resisted integration, led by Democratic governors Orval Faubus of Arkansas, Lester Maddox of Georgia, and, especially George Wallace of Alabama.     These populist governors appealed to a less-educated, blue-collar electorate that on economic grounds favored the Democratic Party, but supported segregation.     After passage of
the Civil Rights Act of 1964 most Southerners accepted the integration of most institutions (except public schools).     With the old barrier to becoming a Republican removed, Southerners joined the new middle class and the Northern transplants in moving toward the Republican Party.     Integration thus liberated Southern politics
from the old racial issues.     Meanwhile the newly enfranchised black voters supported Democratic candidates at the 85-90% level.

George Wallace

The South's transition to a Republican stronghold took decades. First the states started voting Republican in presidential elections—the Democrats countered that by nominating Southerners who could carry some states in the region, such as Jimmy Carter in 1976, and Bill Clinton in 1992 and 1996;   however, the strategy did not work
with Al Gore in 2000.     Then the states began electing Republican senators to fill open seats caused by retirements, and finally governors and state legislatures changed sides.     Georgia was the last state to fall, with Sonny Perdue taking the governorship in 2002.      Republicans aided the process with redistricting that
protected the African American and Hispanic vote (as required by the Civil Rights laws), but split up the remaining white Democrats so that Republicans mostly would win.

Al Gore

In 2006 the Supreme Court endorsed nearly all of the gerrymandering engineered by Tom DeLay that swung the Texas Congressional delegation to the GOP in 2004.     DeLay himself was sentenced to prison in 2011 for illegally funding the state GOP.    DeLay is still free pending appeal as of May 16th 2012.

Just the thought of prison wiped the smile off DeLay's mug.

In addition to its white middle class base, Republicans attracted strong majorities from the Evangelical Christian vote, which had been nonpolitical before 1980.     The national Democratic Party's support for liberal social stances such as abortion drove many former Democrats into a Republican Party that was embracing the
conservative views on these issues.     Conversely, liberal Republicans in the northeast began to join the Democratic Party.     In 1969 in The Emerging Republican Majority, Kevin Phillips, argued that support from Southern whites and growth in the South, among other factors, was driving an enduring Republican electoral
realignment.     Today, the South is again generally solid in state elections, and mostly solid in presidential contests, but now for the Republicans.

Jimmy Carter

Exit polls in 2004 showed that George W. Bush led John Kerry 70 percent to 30 percent among whites, who constituted 71 percent of the Southern voters.     Kerry had a 90-percent-to-9-percent lead among the 18 percent of the voters who were black.    One third of the Southerners said they were white evangelicals;  they voted for Bush, 80 percent to 20 percent.

John Kerry

In 2008 Barack Obama carried Florida, North Carolina and Virginia;   in 2010 the GOP regained their losses.

George W Bush

The two biggest and most harmful things to happen to the Republican party were the entire 8 years of the  George W Bush presidency and Sarah Palin's run for vice president.

Sarah Palin

The faith and trust of the GOP was damaged by both.     Without George W Bush and the dreadful job he did as president there would have been no Barack Obama.      So there is one thing to thank Bush for.
