ACVDN says The Great GOP HATE-O-RAMA is Going Strong.

TOO DUMB to Adjust to Changes in the World They Live In.

ACVDN

Republicans know that not just the United States but the whole world is watching as the GOP leads them in the Great Hate-O-Rama.   Women, immigrants, students, gays, people on food stamps and Oh so much More are the target for these ultra white old republicans.    They know that Romney got 59% of the white vote and still lost the election by more than 5 million votes.   That 59% that Romney got was greater than what Regan got in his landslide accent to the white house.   It appears that these right wing conservative's don't care about winning anymore and they have already proven that they don't care about governing.   They shut the whole government down on a whim and don't give a dam who gets hurt.

When republicans are challenged they freeze and take the country into the deep freeze with them.   It is pretty simple, the make up of the voters in this country is changing.   Republicans don't want to appeal to these new voters, they want to prevent them from voting.

That's what conservative really means, Too Dumb to Adjust to Changes in the world they live in.

How Long before you are too ashamed to call yourself a republican?   Let's hope you join the human race soon.

For the first time, America's racial and ethnic minorities now make up about half of the under-5 age group.
By Hope Yen, Associated Press

For the first time, America's racial and ethnic minorities now make up about half of the under-5 age group, the government said Thursday.   It's a historic shift that shows how young people are at the forefront of sweeping changes by race and class.

The new census estimates, a snapshot of the U.S. population as of July 2012, comes a year after the Census Bureau reported that whites had fallen to a minority among babies.    Fueled by immigration and high rates of birth, particularly among Hispanics, racial and ethnic minorities are now growing more rapidly in numbers than whites.

It’s the latest in a series of reports that have signaled a major, long-term shift in the demographics of the United States, as non-Hispanic white Americans are expected to become a minority group over the next three decades.    For years, Americans of Asian, black and Hispanic descent have stood poised to topple the demographic hegemony historically held by whites.

Based on current rates of growth, whites in the under-5 group are expected to tip to a minority this year or next, Thomas Mesenbourg, the Census Bureau's acting director, said.

The government also projects that in five years, minorities will make up more than half of children under 18.   Not long after, the total U.S. white population will begin an inexorable decline in absolute numbers, due to aging baby boomers.

The latest census numbers show:

The population younger than 5 stood at 49.9 percent minority in 2012.

For the first time in more than a century, the number of deaths now exceeds births among white Americans.   This "natural decrease" occurred several years before the government's original projection, a sign of the white population decline soon to arrive.   For now, the white population is still increasing slightly, due to immigration from Europe.

As a whole, the nonwhite population increased by 1.9 percent to 116 million, or 37 percent of the U.S.   The fastest percentage growth is among multiracial Americans, followed by Asians and Hispanics.   Non-Hispanic whites make up 63 percent ofthe U.S.; Hispanics, 17 percent; blacks, 12.3 percent; Asians, 5 percent; and multiracial Americans, 2.4 percent.

About 353 of the nation's 3,143 counties, or 11 percent, are now "majority-minority."   Six of those counties tipped to that status last year: Mecklenburg, N.C.; Cherokee, Okla.; Texas, Okla.; Bell, Texas; Hockley, Texas; and Terrell, Texas.

In 2012, 13 states and the District of Columbia had an under-5 age population that was "majority-minority," up from five states in 2000.   In 25 states and the District of Columbia, minorities now make up more than 40 percent of the under-5 group.

Among the under-5 age group, 22 percent live in poverty, typically in more rural states such as Mississippi, Arkansas and Louisiana.   Black toddlers were most likely to be poor, at 41 percent, followed by Hispanics at 32 percent and whites at 13 percent.   Asian toddlers had a poverty rate of 11 percent.

"More so than ever, we need to recognize the importance of young minorities for the growth and vitality of our labor force and economy," said William H. Frey, a demographer at the Brookings Institution who analyzed the census data.

Analysis by Timothy Smeeding, an economics professor at the University of Wisconsin-Madison who specializes in income inequality, of the latest research and data on social mobility, provided to The Associated Press, shows that a child's achievement varies widely depending on a parent's education and income.   The reason:   More educated parents tend to have fewer children and generally earn more money than before, allowing them to spend larger amounts of time or money on a child's development, including music or art classes, extra tutoring, or travel and summer camps.

The gaps in achievement tend to emerge early in childhood, continuing through high school, and disparities are especially evident in SAT admission scores.    College Board data show that average scores spread as wide as 130-140 points in each of the reading, math and writing sections for a student with family income of less than $20,000, compared with a student with family income exceeding $200,000.

About 40 percent of whites age 25-29 graduate from college, compared with 15 percent for Latinos and 23 percent for blacks.

Obama proposed expanding pre-K education for any 4-year-old whose family income was below twice the federal poverty rate, or $46,000 for a family of four.   That is an increasingly minority age group that would benefit from what Obama calls the single most effective way to boost educational outcomes.

The plan would be paid for by a nearly $1 per pack federal cigarette tax.   But at a time of strapped federal budgets, Republican lawmakers have been reluctant to expand the scope of government or raise new taxes.   Medicare and Social Security costs due to aging of the mostly white baby boomer generation are also adding to the government burden.

A recent Rutgers University study found that state funding for pre-K programs had its largest drop ever last year, with states now spending less per child than a decade ago.

GOP Mobs Block Passage For Buses Carrying Immigrants Children In California

ACVDN

A wall of angry protesters blocked three buses of immigrant children in Southern California, forcing them to turn around — but with no clear final destination.

The immigrants had traveled from South Texas to San Diego and were on their way to be processed at the Murrieta Border Patrol station when the standoff took place Tuesday.

Republican protesters chanting  “USA!”  “Impeach Obama!”  and  “Deport! Deport!”  blocked their route.   A heated yelling match ensued between the demonstrators and a group of counter protesters.

After the buses turned around, the 140 people on board were taken to a border station in San Ysidro, said Ron Zermeno of the National Border Patrol Council.

On Wednesday, Zermeno told reporters that at least 136 immigrants were fed and screened at the Murrieta facility.   Ten children among the group were taken to local hospitals, though it’s unclear why.   Seven children were diagnosed with active scabies, an itchy and highly contagious skin disease. Those children are being kept separate from the others at the San Ysidro station, he said.

An additional 17 illegal immigrants were taken to the Boulevard station in eastern San Diego County, Zermeno said.

Border Patrol officials told KGTV several children were taken to Rady Children’s Hospital in San Diego with unknown illnesses.

The U.S. government is struggling to process and accommodate an influx of illegal immigrants, and specifically a spike in immigrant children.   The government doesn’t have enough beds, food or sanitary facilities.

Authorities estimate 60,000 to 80,000 children without parents will cross the border this year in what the White House has called an “immediate humanitarian crisis.”

To help relieve crowded facilities in Texas, undocumented immigrants are now being sent elsewhere to be processed.

But Zermeno said processing immigrants, rather than enforcing the borders, is only making the situation worse.

“My concern is they are going to be eating in the same holding cells as someone sitting 5 feet away using the bathroom,” he said.

Murrieta Police Chief Sean Hadden said he was told to expect 140 immigrants every 72 hours, with the next group scheduled to arrive on Friday, the Fourth of July.    He encouraged the public to attend a town hall meeting Wednesday evening.

The furor in Murrieta illustrated the conflict between protecting the borders and the safety of illegal immigrant families and children.

“If these children were from Canada, we would not be having this interview,” immigration rights advocate Enrique Morones barked.

“The parents have had enough.   They are saying, ‘If I don’t send my child north, they are going to die."

Anti-immigration protesters impeded the arrival of several buses transporting undocumented immigrants into a US Border Patrol station in Murrieta, California on Tuesday, some 60 miles north of San Diego.

The arrival of the group of Central American families had been decried by Murrieta’s mayor, Alan Long, who alleged that the group of immigrants, adults with their children numbering about 140 people, represented a public safety threat to the community.

Assembled protesters, who numbered 150 tea party activists, converged on a street leading up to an access road into the processing center, preventing the two buses from reaching the facility.

Police at the scene did not attempt to break up the demonstration, which included picket signs with messages such as “Return to sender” and “Bus illegal children to the White House,” and anti-immigration slogans such as F..K the children.   Almost a half hour into the incident, the two unmarked buses turned around and left.

A representative of the border patrol agents union said that the immigrants would likely be rerouted to one of the other six Border Patrol stations in the San Diego region.   Local news reports seemed to confirm that the 140 undocumented immigrants were instead being driven to the Chula Vista Border Patrol facility in San Diego County.

The Central American immigrants had been flown to San Diego from Texas, and were on their way for processing at the Murrieta facility where US immigration officials told reporters they would await deportation.

Tuesday’s incident in Murrieta highlights the influx of both families and unattended minors from Central America, which have strained the border patrol’s resources and led to the creation of several temporary processing facilities to deal with overflow conditions in Texas.

Unlike undocumented immigrants from Mexico, who are subject to immediate deportation, the latest influx of families and children feeling violence and poverty in Guatemala, El Salvador and Honduras are instead subject to processing by authorities.

Unaccompanied minors are the responsibility of the US Department of Health and Human Services, which is currently scrambling to create enough housing and provide basic care. Some 500,000 unattended children have crossed into the US illegally within the past year alone.   The agency’s program, Unaccompanied Alien Children (UAC), was only meant to serve the needs of some 8,000 children per year while being processed through US immigration court.

Temporary facilities have been set up in Nogales, Arizona to cope with overflow from South Texas. Meanwhile, another group of immigrants had been driven to a similar facility in El Centro, California, some 100 miles east of San Diego.

Democrats are willing to work with republicans to solve these problems.     Republicans refuse to deal with any of our problems or to participate in governing this country.     If you vote republican it is time for you to let the bums you have elected know it is time to work for the $170,000 a year the tax payers pay them.     If you continue to vote for these obstructionist free loaders you are worse than them.
